The medical register, and how to consult it
How to do it
- Apri il servizio di ricerca della FNOMCeO: portale.fnomceo.it/cerca-prof
- Cerca nome, cognome e la città in cui esercita.
- If it appears, they are registered with a provincial Medical Board. If it does not appear, ask for an explanation before booking.
The data comes from the provincial Medical Boards, which are responsible for keeping it updated.
Why it matters, and the Federation says so itself
This isn’t our advice. The National Federation of Orders of Surgeons and Dentists (FNOMCeO) has publicly urged citizens to verify that the professionals they encounter (including those seen on social media) are registered with the Medical Board and to check their qualifications.
What registration tells you, and what it doesn’t
It tells you che è un medico abilitato, e che un Ordine risponde della sua condotta: se sbaglia, c’è un procedimento disciplinare che lo riguarda.
It does not tell you quale formazione abbia in medicina estetica. In Italia i percorsi in questo campo sono post-laurea (scuole, corsi, società scientifiche) e non compaiono come una specializzazione nell’albo. È esattamente per questo che la Federazione dice di verificare l’iscrizione e i titoli: sono due controlli diversi, e il secondo lo chiedi al medico.
Our commitment, and its limits
Registration with the Medical Board is a requirement to have a page on Fibonacci. The Order and registration number are on the page, not hidden at the bottom: not because it’s your job to check them, but so what we say remains verifiable by anyone, including you.
The limit, stated clearly: the register is public, so the name and number of a real doctor are accessible to anyone. Cross-checking with the register proves that number exists, not that the person who wrote it is that individual. These are two separate checks, and we’re keeping them distinct instead of merging them into a single badge.
That is why on these pages ⛔ you will not find any “verified profile” checkmark: a symbol that promises more than the check actually proves is worse than no symbol at all.
